Environmental Justice Days of Action

Our next Day of Action, O'Fallon Park Clean Up, is on Saturday, September 11th 9am-12pm, in partnership with North Newstead Association and the Young Friends of earthday365. Volunteers will provide assistance in cleaning up O'Fallon Park. Last April was such a success, we hope to provide more resources that can help maintain the space. Volunteers will be treated to 2 scoops from Scoops Italian Ice Truck.

Save the date for our next Day of Action with Gravois Park Neighborhood Association on October 9th, 9am-12pm.

 

September Eco-Media Club

Our September Eco-Media Club is next week, on Wednesday, September 8th at 6:30pm. We will be discussing the episode "Garlic Breath" from the TV Series "Rotten," moderated by the Young Friends of earthday365.

Wasted! The Story of Food Waste Film Screening

Join earthday365 and MO Coalition for the Environment for this screening of Wasted! The Story of Food Waste, a look at our food system and what you can do to reduce food waste in your own life. Through the eyes of famous chefs, audiences will see how they make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. We will screen the film on Thursday, September 23rd, at 8pm in Ritz Park.

And a great opportunity to support the local Green Dining district restaurants and other retail shops in this thriving area!

 

Green Curbside Hop 2021 & The Grove Green Dining District

Our second Green Curbside Hop will be Saturday, October 23rd, 4-8pm in The Grove. This will coincide with the unveiling of The Grove Green Dining District!

Every participating restaurant will have a delectable tasty treat to tickle your taste buds, including pours from Urban Chestnut's draft beers, wild flavors from Confluence Kombucha, and much more! Follow the scavenger hunt map to each restaurant to pick up your sample, then pop over to the earthday365 booth to get your sustainable bonus prize.

This event is designed for COVID safety and built-in social distancing.

 
 

We're Hiring!

Recycling On the Go Recycling Ambassador

Recycling On the Go is still hiring for the 2021 season. Recycling Ambassadors will help educate the public and help event attendees sort their waste between compost, recycling, and trash, plus work with a passionate and sustainability-minded team. This is a part-time paid position with flexible scheduling. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

 

USGBC Seeking Mentors & Schools Looking to Go Green!

 

Registration is now open for the 2021-22 Green Schools Quest and Missouri Green Schools! Both programs support schools in advancing practices throughout their campuses, curriculum, and school culture that reduce environmental impact, improve health and wellness, and provide place-based education. The Green Schools Quest takes a project-based approach and Missouri Green Schools supports schools in taking a systems-based approach to identify and advance green schools practices. Click here to learn more about each program as well as a virtual event on Sept 8th introducing both programs and how they can be leveraged together for greater impact! Community members interested in supporting schools participating in the Green Schools Quest may do so by serving as a Green Mentor! Click here to learn more! Both programs are put on by the U.S. Green Building Council - Missouri Gateway Chapter.
