We are glad to share a positive development regarding St. Louis City's alley recycling suspension: the City has accepted our proposal for the establishment of a Recycling Task Force, and applications are now open for residents to get involved.

The Task Force will bring together experts and community members to research and propose practical ways to improve our recycling system.

This is the first step toward restoring a basic city service. Thank you for helping us push officials to implement real solutions instead of giving up on residential recycling. Your calls, emails, and comments all made an impact!

Environmental Justice Days of Action

This month, join Join Beyond Housing and 24:1 for Community Conservation Days from October 9-11 and make an impact on St. Louis neighborhoods through hands-on environmental work!

Volunteer opportunities include litter clean-ups, tree plantings, cemetery care, and neighborhood beautification—all supporting communities most impacted by pollution and illegal dumping.

Finish the weekend with a family fishing and BBQ celebration in Bel-Ridge, fun for all ages and a chance to celebrate your impact.

Waste Diversion Volunteers Needed THIS SATURDAY!

Our Recycling On the Go team is excited to bring our waste sorting stations to Grove Fest in The Grove this weekend, allowing attendees to compost, recycle, and trash their event waste in the right bins, keeping the event sustainable — but we need YOUR help running the stations!

As a volunteer, you’ll be the friendly face guiding folks through the bins and helping make the event a little greener. After your shift, you can enjoy all the festivities! 

No experience required; please sign up below! You'll be a huge help. Multiple shift times are available. 

We'll be ready for your pumpkins again soon, starting November 1st, all the way until December 6th!

Don't send your leftover pumpkins to the landfill ─ SAVE them and drop off in our back parking lot at 4125 Humphrey St (South City) or North Newstead Association at 4601 Pope Ave (North City). We'll compost them for free!

Our drop-off will be available 24 hours during the period. Please make sure your pumpkins are unpainted and free of wax or other inorganic decor.

We're excited to see our bins fill up next month!

Whooh! What a busy month for our Recycling On the Go team and so many fun events!

In September, we brought our compost and recycling bins to 13 days of local celebrations: EarthDance Farmers Formal (which had an amazing 95% diversion rate!), Twilight Thursdays at the History Museum, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Concert, Great Rivers Greenway Celebration, Brentwood Days, 11th Annual ArborMeisters Homebrew + Craft Beer Festival, South Grand Fall Fest, and both days of Tower Grove Pride — helping community members keep more items out of the landfill and teaching them how to properly dispose of their waste.
