Food Waste Awareness Day

It’s official - Food Waste Awareness Day exists, with approval from the St. Louis City Mayor, Tishuara Jones!

We created this special day to spread awareness about the impact of food waste and celebrate citywide achievements in reducing it, notably by the 8 Green Dining Alliance members who participated in our STL Food Waste Challenge: Mission Taco Joint (Delmar), Pizza Head, SqWires Restaurant and Market, Old Bakery Beer, Bar K, Flavor 360, Alpha Brewing Co, and Olive + Oak.

Join us in our celebration at Urban Chestnut (Grove location) on November 17th, 5:30pm - 7:30pm, featuring:

  • Free food + 1 free drink
  • Free Green Dining Alliance passports for the first 25 attendees
  • Presentation of proclamation by the office of Mayor Tishaura Jones
  • Presentation of St. Louis Region Food Waste & Food Rescue Report
  • earthday365 presenting Food Waste Challenge data, awards, & recognitions!
