The enemy is here! Plastic pollution is destroying our planet, and it's up to us to learn about the solutions and take action.

Join us at the St. Louis Earth Day Festival, the largest Earth Day celebration in the Midwest and a weekend-long gathering of community, creativity, fun, and impact.

Our 2026 theme, Planet vs. Plastic, confronts one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. From single-use plastics to microplastics in our water and food systems, plastic pollution impacts ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. Throughout the Festival, attendees will discover practical solutions, innovative ideas, and local resources to reduce plastic waste and take action in their own lives.

This year’s artwork, by local artist Jesse Reiners, brings the theme to life. The towering plastic-zilla illustrates the horrifying scale and destructive impact of the plastic pollution crisis, while the crowd below reflects the power of collective action and the change that’s possible when we come together.

The Festival brings together 20,000 attendees and 200 local organizations and businesses in the beautiful Forest Park for a weekend of hands-on activities, live performances, sustainably made food, and educational experiences for all ages.

Programming highlights include earthday365’s annual Sustainability Awards, a Sustainable Fashion Show by Liberated Roots Co’Creations, a kids balance bike course with St. Louis BWorks, roller skating with Skate Culture STL, rock climbing with Upper Limits, our Climate Education Tent, and much more.

When it’s time to recharge, visit the Earth Day Café, featuring local Green Dining Alliance-certified restaurants serving sustainably made food, along with an All Vegan Zone sponsored by the St. Louis Animal Rights Team!

Sustainable Fashion Show - Designer Call

Liberated Roots Co’Creations is calling in designers for INDISPOSABLE: The Spirit Sustains, the featured fashion experience at the 2026 St. Louis Earth Day Festival.

This year, we are moving beyond the surface of sustainability to explore it as an ancient, lived practice rooted in care, conservation, and the belief that no life —human, animal, or ecological— is disposable.

We are looking for work that responds to the 6 R’s: Refuse • Reduce • Reuse • Repair • Recycle • Rethink.

Submissions can include:

  • Vintage garments thoughtfully styled or reworked
  • Repaired or visibly mended pieces
  • Deconstructed or repurposed designs
  • Sustainably crafted handmade garments or accessories
  • Work prioritizing slow making and ethical sourcing

Selected designers will present 2-4 looks on a runway that includes diverse genders, body types, races, and ages. Whether your work is ceremonial or everyday, refined or raw, we want to see your vision for a future without waste.

Ready to honor the spirit that sustains us? Visit the link below!

Update on House Bill 2761

Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a testimony on HB 2761 and share their perspectives. We were truly grateful to see how many people care deeply about the work being done by local organizations across our region. We believe in the importance of keeping landfill diversion efforts local, where programs are transparent, accountable, and effective—diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills each year, while supporting hundreds of Missouri jobs.

Please continue sharing about HB 2761, expressing concern to the committee members, and supporting local organizations such as earthday365, PerennialCity Sewing RoomNew Earth FarmHome Sweet HomeSt. Louis BWorksSt. Louis HELP, and many more. We will provide updates on the situation as it progresses.
