October Environmental Justice Days of Action

October 8th, 2022, 9am-12pm – Garden Work Day & Litter Clean-up

We are partnering with A Red Circle to pick up litter around the area and help close the garden at North County Agricultural Education Center in Pine Lawn, MO. Volunteers will be treated to juices from Juicemasters!

October 15th, 2022, 9am-12pm – O’Fallon Park Clean-up

We are partnering again with North Newstead Association and the Young Friends of earthday365 for our bi-annual litter clean-up at O’Fallon Park. We hope to continue to help provide resources that contribute to maintaining the space. Volunteers will be treated to two scoops from Scoops Italian Ice Truck!

 

2nd Annual Green Dining Week
Takes Place October 17-23

Support local green dining and the Green Dining Alliance

The 2nd Annual Green Dining Week returns October 17-23 and includes 18 Green Dining Alliance establishments. Each day of the week will feature at least one GDA member, with a portion of the day’s total sales going to the Green Dining Alliance, a sustainability certification program for the St. Louis area.

These are the GDA Members participating in the 2nd Annual Green Dining Week:

  • Monday (10/17): Buzz's Hawaiian Grill and Baileys' Rooster (Downtown and S. Grand)
  • Tuesday (10/18): Salt + Smoke (Delmar Loop and Hampton)
  • Wednesday (10/19): Perennial Artisan Ales, Kitchen House Coffee, and Mission Taco Joint (Delmar Loop, Soulard, and St. Charles)
  • Thursday (10/20): Baileys' Range (Downtown), SqWires, and The Pat Connolly Tavern
  • Friday (10/21): Pizza Head
  • Saturday(10/22): The Wolf Café and Flavor 360 
  • Sunday (10/23): Crushed Red (Kirkwood and Clayton) 
 

STL Green Drinks Happy Hour 

Support local, green dining and join in the conversations of fellow environmentalists and sustainable living advocates. STL Green Drinks will be hosting their October happy hour at GDA-certified Salt + Smoke on Hampton. Each month will feature a new GDA-certified establishment for happy hour.

When: October 18th, 6-8pm   

Location: Salt + Smoke on Hampton (5625 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139) *Upstairs in the Bovine Room

 

 Recycling On the Go is Making BIG Strides!

Recycling On the Go has been busy this year!

ROG has provided recycling services for over 49 public events and has diverted 62,749 pounds of waste from the landfill for recycling and composting. 

Come to the Rustic Roots Harvest Festival on
Saturday, October 15th, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm to see them in action!
